Just a bit of clarification--

aguamames (k.o. teething ring)-- my suggestion this might be a Span. loan
based on the possible meaning: "suck water" though the final -es is odd.

[SaSo] > xaxaun [SaSon] f. momia (?) Mummy????-- just to avoid any
confusion, that's _mummy_ as in ancient Egypt et al.. There should be an
accent on the "i". Did the Guanche do that??

I suspect the dict. of the Real Academia would be your best bet for archaic/
dialect forms. It may be on-line, and I believe Corominas is also on-line.
Maybe you know this already.
