I searched for "Carl Philipp Bach" and "Karl Philipp Bach" *without*
quotation marks. In all languages, this comes up 2-1 for Carl, but in
German only, about even. On closer examination, OTOH, many of the Karls
are some other Karl who is mentioned nearby. So your method is probably
more nearly correct.
