Well, of course I've forgotten again that intervocalic /b/ becomes a
labiodental fricative in Narbonósc. "Work" in Narbonósc is lavour /la'vu/,
not "labour" as I first said (well, it's supposed to be the same in French, but
the two French cognates of Narbonósc, which are "labeur" and "labour", are
borrowings - from Occitan I suppose -).
