Okay, /i-/ is always spelled ì/î, and I'm considering dropping the {r},
since it's homophonous with {l}. Of course, that would make the
language be Lomán. Either that or drop the {l}, and have {r} stand in
for /l/. :-)
Also, there's at least one type of stem-changing verb, those that, in
Latin, had short a for the stem, e.g.:
chìntáu (to sing) canto (I sing)
Short a, when stressed, remained /a/, but when unstressed, became /@/,
which was later either lost (as in Rômâna -> Román) or merged with ì (as
in cantâre -> chìntáu)
