I've got a question about interrogatives. (Do I ever
start an email without saying, "I have a
question..."?) I'm having some difficulty deciding
what my interrogatives will be in C-a. I've come up
with several possibilities derived from several
sources.
First there's
Who fin <quem
What fid <quid
Which fi <qui (or que)
Where pa <qua
When pun <quum
Why pu <quur
How pomu <quommu
Which <qui (or que)
Second there's
What/Which pali <qualis
Why pervi <per qui
Where jundi <unde
Third there's the possibility of borrowing Hebrew
(either as Hebrew or as a standin for Punic) _man_ for
"what". Why? Just because I like the word.
Have any real Romlangs borrowed any interrogatives
from non-Latin/Romance sources?
Additionally, I am concidering including the following
interrogatives:
To what degree? Pan?
How much/many? Pandu?
How often? Pochi?
Currently, I'm leaning toward the following scheme:
Fin Who
Fid What
Pali What
Pun When
Pervi Why
Jundi Where
Pomu How
Pandu How much/many
Pochi How often
But I could change my mind entirely at any moment.
Conlangers perrogative, you know. What say you?
