I've indeed heard that it was a common expression in some languages,
including Danish (not French, we have Chinese and Hebbrew for that part ;))
). FWIW, it's also the expression in Esperanto ;))) (I heard the verb
"volapuki" for "speaking in an ununderstanble language" ;)) ).
