Perhaps he's especially talented. My knowledge of French and Italian -
plus faded echoes of schoolbook classical Latin - lets me read Catalan
and Rhaeto-Romance with some confidence (though of course not with
perfect understanding), but I can't make head or tail of a Rumanian
newspaper.
