Officially, because "new" does not literally modify the year. Only in cases
like "Julian year" the adjective would be placed after the noun.
Unofficially, because that's simply the way Polish does it. Sometimes you know
how a language solves a problem without really know why exactly.
The word for Christmas is, actually: "Dziewyna Nacitac". In a formula like the
sentence above, "Nacitac" is enough. It was my mistake, however, not to use a
capital.

"Wesó£" is straighty borrowed from Polish. Before I coined the word, I saw that
the Romanian word is "vesel", so I thought, if Romanian can do that trick, why
not Wenedyk?
