Since pulcher was only used in the Classical Latin language, the only chance of
preservation would come from Sardinian (which is known for being the only
Romance language to descend from Classical Latin rather than Vulgar Latin - or
more exactly to descend from a much older version of spoken Latin, nearer to
the classical language, than the other Romance languages). So I've checked (at
http://www.ditzionariu.org/), and it gives the following Sardinian words
for "beautiful": |bédhu| and |elmósu| (obvious cognates of Spanish |bello| and
|hermoso|, for who knows a bit about the twisted sound changes of
Sardinian :)) ). So even Sardinian in this case didn't keep pulcher. I don't
know for Rhaeto-Romance, but AFAIK no Romance language kept pulcher.
