My sources are often Vulgar Latin words (whenever I can get word lists),
but i generally look at Portuguese and Spanish for words (following the
sound change charts I copied), and try to construct words that way (it's
pretty reliable), such as where Spanish has "hembra" (from femina),
Montreiano has feƱna (/feNna/). Most of the words I got were from "A
History of The Spanish Language" by Ralph Penny (IIRC), and "From Latin to
Romance in Sound Charts", so i could have a sensible set of changes (i
based it off of the changes listed in it, and then went my own direction
to develop Montreiano). I havent spent time on the protolang. I wanted a
modern language (I really dont have time to do a proto-lang, and then
derive the modern lang).

Anyway, hi, i signed up the other day. Small list, but a nice one.
